  1. I’ve gotten ideas from newspapers and tv shows. Sometimes it’s just a phrase, or in one case a scene n a tv show One day I was standing at the bus stop mulling over how to describe a new character. A girl was also waiting. I looked at her and described her in my mind and then knew how to describe my character. Good article!

  2. My very first piece of writing to share with my writers circle was a 5 minute exercise with three random words. I love all types of prompts from pictures, to random words to a random sentence. So much so I place a prompt every Saturday on my circle’s web site! http://www.wfscsherwoodpark.com

    Prompts have helped me a children’s book, a fantasy and a novel – so go for it – use anything & everything.
