Ask Me Anything *gulp*

It’s my birthday today πŸ™‚ No, no way am I telling you how old….didn’t your mother tell you it’s rude to ask a lady her age? LMAO πŸ˜‰

Sooooo, as I’m currently being treated to a night away in a hotel in Bath, I thought I’d ask you, my dear readers to take part in today’s post πŸ™‚

Prompted by a post by Virginia over at poetaofficium and CC’s post over at ccarothers I’ve decided to open up today’s post. Nooooo, I’m not being lazy lol.

I often wish I knew more about the people who’s blogs I follow. When you think, you read someone’s blog who lives thousands of miles away, on the other side of the world, and the only time you really get to know anything about them is when they have to list facts about themselves through an Award they’ve received.

So, as I’ve always considered myself an open book, I’m happy to answer any questions you may like to throw at me (within reason lol) go on, I dare you πŸ˜‰

I’d like to say if you ask me a question I’ll ask you one back, but don’t panic, I won’t, unless you want me to πŸ˜‰

My cake from 2010 (the first one I’ve ever had as an adult, since my childhood) πŸ™‚

So go on, ask me a question any question and I’ll do my best to answer (just make sure it’s clean please lol). You never know, we might be able to come up with some story ideas in the process πŸ˜‰

  1. Happy birthday!! It’s your day, do it your way!

What’s one book that you could read over and over?
Also, where would you live if money weren’t an issue?

Ummmmm, has to be Wuthering Heights…..I have this little dream…. I’d really like to collect copies, like really old ones. Have a whole shelf of different additions with pretty covers and hand scribbled notes on the inside covers. Maybe one day πŸ™‚

    • Hi there πŸ™‚

      Awwww, thanks!

Ooooo, now that’s a hard one lol…..ok, I have a few, but one of them would have to be the day my husband proposed to me on our 17th wedding anniversary. It was fantastic, I cried lol πŸ™‚

Well, it was done on the cheap because no one really took us seriously. I was 18, hubby was 20. It was a registry office, my uncle drove me there in his car, and the reception was at another uncles house.

As for the dress? You can see it here https://angelchildvikki.files.wordpress.com/2012/04/20120413-134703.jpg

The theme was blue and white, so the cake was 3 tiered, white with blue flowers, my bridesmaid was my sister who was dressed in pale blue and for a honeymoon we have a weekend in Brighton. It was all we could afford lol

      • That is a cute dress. It sounds like it was a special day. Simple can be just as nice as fancy. It is great you were able to get away somewhere for a honeymoon. πŸ™‚

The question I want to ask is……
What is the one thing you would do if you knew you couldn’t fail (writing not an option coz you do that already!) πŸ™‚ xxxxx

Ooooo, now that’s a really hard one!!!! Lol….. *thinks*

Probably dance lol. I haven’t danced since I was 11 years old 😦 My mum was a dancer, I mean a REAL dancer (on stage in front of the Queen en stuff) and I was made to feel like the chubby baby elephant as a kid who couldn’t quite cut it. So I stopped, and I haven’t danced again since. I wish I could, but I’ve spent my whole adult life being scared of it. Crazy I know, but it kinda turned into a phobia lol

      • Wow, that’s very very cool – would you say intimidating? Sorry, that’s probably not helping. But infront of the Queen? I’d be ******ing myself! You should def get back into it, it’s in your blood – it’s never too late to start! πŸ™‚

  5. HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Here’s my question, what’s the one thing you would do over either because you’d do it differently or just because it was so great you want to relive it?

Ooooo, another hard one, what are you guys doing to me? Lol

Hmmmmm…..there are lots of things in my life I’d do differently, but the main one that springs to mind is this…..

I went to Dublin to see an Oasis concert. Me and hubby wanted to stay in the hotel owned by Bono (we’re big U2 fans, especially hubby) but it was fully booked that night (should have booked earlier….mistake number one lol). At the end of the concert we briefly discussed going for a drink, but decided to walk back to our hotel and ordered room service as hubby was hungry.

The following day we heard that Bono and Liam Gallagher had been in the bar of the hotel all night drinking! Gutted, absolutely gutted!!!!! 😦 lol

The choices we make eh? πŸ˜‰

      Thanks hon πŸ™‚

Hubby said to me years ago that he thought I should write a book, but I poo pooed it lol….then in 2010 I did Nano, and I wrote a book! Lol. It wasn’t until mid to late 2011 that I thought, do you know what, I’d love to get my novel published…..so now I guess I’ve finally decided, after 25 years of asking myself, what do I want to be when I grow up. So now, I think I want to be an author πŸ™‚

  6. Happy birthday darling, I’m really looking forward to Bath, it’s a beautiful place :o).
Yes, I’m gutted too about Bono!!! (not Liam lmho) although I probably would have been too embarrassed by the situation to approach them. My question to you is… If we had of gone there and you had 1 question to ask to ONE of them only… Which one? And what would that question be?????

      • It is when people write dialogue and describe it with an adverb. For example “What” she said angrily.

Well you should not need to add the “angrily”, the dialogue and / or actions should be enough to explain it. just “said” ought to be sufficient apart from on the odd exception. Trying to eliminate these words is actually a good exercise in seeing if your dialogue and actions are strong enough as the reader should be able to tell what is going on, just from that e.g. without you telling them it should be angry.

      • ahhhhh, yeah, I thought you meant in speech tags πŸ™‚

I was reading recently that the only speech tag that should be used is he/she said lol. I’m not sure I’d go that far though. So I guess, I’m in agreement, they should be used sparingly πŸ™‚

Hmmmmm, that’s hard, there have been lots! But, probably the best was a Panda bear my hubby got me from The Bear Factory (where you build it yourself). Inside is a personal message he recorded πŸ™‚

The only downside to the panda is that he’s sporting a football shirt lol, typical man πŸ˜‰

  7. Happy, happy birthday!
And, I know, don’t you hate it? People always think they need to know how old I am. Makes me wonder why it matters so much.
    Anyway.
I love all the questions, and I have an easy one for you–the question I always ask people that I want to get to know better.
What is your favorite song, ever? More than one song is okay too. πŸ™‚
Have fun on your night away!

      Just got back, exhausted lol

Ooooo, well, thats a good question. My favourite all time song is Wonderwall by Oasis, but, my 2nd is All I Want Is You by U2. Hubby is under strict instructions that both are to be played at my funeral πŸ™‚
