I’ve never dated a writer, but I am one, so surely, all those things are what are great about being with me? That’s right isn’t it? *sniggers* I found myself going through the list going, yep…yep…yep lol.

The thing I like about writers is the skill of observing: those nuances of human nature, a great line of overheard dialogue, the way someone throws their foot slightly to the side with each step and we can see the worn outer edges of their shoes. It’s great to have another writer to talk to…dating or not.

  8. I laughed when I read the title of this post. I haven’t gone into the link yet because my computer is playing up. It took me ten minutes to get into your post – I was thinking of giving up but persevered – you’re special 🙂 I’ve got another couple of posts I want to check out tonight, so I’ll probably be sitting her until morning waiting for them to open (or I may just go to bed and try again tomorrow). This comment is getting long and boring, but hey! I’m here now – may as well make the most of it – woo hoo

    To answer your question: I’d never date a writer – I find it hard enough putting up with myself! 😀

  10. I haven’t dated a writer before (Although a few writers have wanted to date me lol). I always thought it wouldn’t be a good idea – with the competition and that annoying-ness of being with someone who is too much like you.

    I’m sure it’s not always the case, though. There’s so many different types of writers out there. We’re awesome people, aren’t we?

      Oh definitely! And just think of all those benefits that someone who is with you gets! 🙂

      I know a couple of “writer” couples who share an office and each have their own desks….sweet 🙂 Perhaps go for one who writes a different genre? see Patsys comment above.

      • I’ll be sure to check it out! Good point about writers in different genres. I did meet a guy I’d consider more my type who is a writer. I found out that even jocks can be writers! lol 😉

  12. My husband always beats me at Scrabble! I get the best words, but he is brilliant at finding places where he can get points for more than one word and I’m always too busy inside my own head to notice!

      Well, I’ve just read a piece by Jonathan Franzen where he attributed his marriage breakdown to the fact that he and his wife were both writers, so perhaps it’s not such a good idea after all 😉

      • I think it was more to do with the fact that she was the more talented writer, whereas he was the one who got the publishing deal and became commercially successful. He felt, in his words “very very guilty” Whoops!

      • That’s bound to happen. He shouldn’t feel guilty. He got the right thing in front of the right person at the right time. Out of any profession another writer should understand and be proud. Clearly the wrong woman for the right man at the wrong time. 🙂
