Tales From A Notebook (part 1)

A few weeks ago (or was it months?) someone asked me if I could share some pages from my note books. I have 14 now that are completely full up, and another 7 currently on the go.

So here are a few pages 🙂

As you can see, I collect crap lol….anything I think might help or inspire me at a later date goes in my note books 🙂 I love flicking back through them when I’m stuck for a title idea, or need inspiration on a story.

so the question is…..do you want me to do a regular post, sharing the contents? Or shall I just leave it there because you’re yawning?

  1. I want to know what inspiration you could get from the page that says, “Why do hot girls fall for ugly guys?” That made me go, “hm”

    • Ha ha ha, I thought that might interest you CC 😉

I did write a story that was about a guy who had a facial disfigurement. He was very lonely and a girl at the Social Security office (he could never get a job) was always nice to him. In my story she was very pretty so he thought he had no chance with her. I kind of ended it that it turns out her 8 year old son suffered from the same condition so they became friends. I ended it there, but if I ever continue with it, they WILL fall in love 😉

  2. Your notebooks are sorta neat.
I wanna see more of what you do with them, mixed with your day to day….good stuff.
Good ideas to steal for my notebooks. I subscribed to your blog, by the way, just cuz I liked the name. : )

  4. This is lovely! I keep a little book with pages like the last picture too! And I was most drawn to the picture that had “Why didn’t I die with my secret?” . It almost spurs me to write a short story already! This is fun stuff, do share them if you don’t mind, thank you! 🙂

  5. I’m just in awe of how organized and neat your notebooks are Vikki…mine are the proverbial dog’s breakfast and I would be far too ashamed for anyone to see them. lol

  6. I think your notebooks are beautiful – and yes, definitely make it a regular spot please! You’ve inspired me – I’m going out and buying a new one at the weekend.

One thing I realised reading this post is that I miss a lot by not reading newspapers or watching the news. I’m horrendously sensitive, and an upsetting news peice can destroy me for hours. But I’m going to challenge myself to open up to the possibilities … (I think it was becoming a mum!) x

    • Awwww, thanks Jo 🙂

I LOVE my notebooks! You know that question people ask about what you’d save in a fire and most people say the family photos…..not me 😉

I totally agree! I very rarely watch the news, and it’s even rarer for me to buy a National Newspaper…..but, I do occasionally go through the local papers (we have a free one) which don’t seem to be filled with so much doom and gloom.

OMG yours are so neat and organised you put mine to shame with my scribbles and scrawls (hides notebooks under desk) I feel the urge now though for a new notebook to pinch the idea of putting magazine clippings etc I am not even sure I actually have one that is completely filled I just grab them and scribble randomly must get better organised

    • He he he, trust me, some of mine are too Paula 🙂

Ahhhhh, now that would drive me mad! I’ve recently tried to experiment with having more than one notebook on the go, but it’s not working for me. So in future, it’ll just be the one 🙂

  8. Mostly what I liked was the way you wrote your observations. I’ve never really known how to write quick observations — I guess I’m more of a descriptive than dialogue writer — but I will probably adopt this style more. Much more efficient…

  9. Notebook # 3 reminded me of one of mine. 🙂 As soon as I pick up a new one, I write in my lucky highlighter throughout for positive reminders along the way. Images are on my walls, but have to start putting those too in the book. Thanks for sharing another inspiring post!
