Must Do’s 18th to 24th Feb

I’ve had a pretty bad week 😦 Not much writing, feeling a bit uninspired to be honest, or am I just tired? Focusing seems to be an issue.

So last weeks Must Do’s were a bit if a disaster 😦

1. Faber homework. No class = no homework.
2. Edit first 5000 words of Still. I did some of it, but my critique has now been put back until March so I’ve been very lazy and left it 😦
3. Submit to Faber. See above!
4. Keep up with 1000 words a day. A complete wash out! *sighs*
5. Catch up with other blogs. I was up to date but I’ve fallen behind again.
6. Tidy desk (again!). Nope and now it’s worse lol

Well, I haven’t had a week that bad in ages! I’m even behind replying to your comments on my blog! I’ve really gotta pull myself together, somebody kick me up the arse πŸ˜‰

This weeks list looks like this:

But I’ve got a really busy week…..

Keep your fingers crossed for me that I can pull myself out of the mood I’ve found myself in.

What are your writing plans for the week?

  1. With the week beginning on Monday, my week’s primary target is:

Sunday – Look at what I’ve done since Monday and assign actual deeds to targets πŸ˜€

In other words, I don’t set myself any targets. I find such things stifling, and when I did used to have targets, I only ever experienced discontent with myself for the things I missed on. Discontent, being a negative factor, meant a decline in activity, so it was counter-productive. I therefore made the decision to simply do those things that I did. Surprisingly, I ended up doing more! Well, I did when circumstances, particularly physical and/or mental health, permitted. I’ve worked through things the same way ever since. Yes, there are unproductive times, but they’re more than made up for by the very best periods πŸ˜‰

  2. Is it a mood? Winter blues? I’ve found it’s hard to be inspired during this time of year. I hope you get your groove back. I had to ask a friend to set a deadline for when she wanted my story to her for editing. That’s helped me some to get the lead out. Only some.

    • Thanks CC πŸ™‚

I guess it could be winter blues, but I’m not so sure. I feel a bit, I dunno, ungrounded at the moment.

I’m sure I’ll get my mojo back, I HAVE to πŸ˜‰

      Good luck honey xx

  3. I’m going through a bit of a ‘bleh’ period as out. It must be the spring not quite here yet feeling. Fancy some online word wars Wed, Thur or Friday?

  4. Chin up, we are all allowed an off week. Maybe something else is worrying you so you can’t focus on what’s in hand.
You do brilliantly all the other weeks. One ok week isn’t terrible πŸ™‚ enjoy your week ahead πŸ™‚ xx

  5. I reckon all of us get a week like that once in a while (or even regularly!) I always put it down to overload and burnout and the only cure is to detach for a few days and rest my brain. I always come back to it refreshed. I hope you have a better week this week! (PS, in the interests of time management, do not feel obliged to reply to this! I usually just do a collective reply to everyone and to be honest I don’t expect a reply to a blog comment unless there’s a question involved! I don’t think people mind if you don’t reply personally to them – we’re all as busy as each other and I think most people understand.) You set a very high blogging standard that I can never hope to emulate πŸ™‚

Awwwww, thanks honey πŸ™‚ I love replying to the comments and chatting with everyone, it the best bit of blogging for me πŸ˜‰

  6. Do you know what, Vikki? You’ve been working like mad, you’ve been running here and there and you had some bad stuff happen last week. Give yourself a break. I know, I know, that sounds ridiculous but I mean it. Every now and then, your body has its way of telling you to slow down and what you describe, in my experience, is it. Take the blogs, for example. Yeah, blogging matters. Yeah, you want to be supportive of your friends and community. But will the sky fall on your head if you give yourself a week off? No. We’ll all still be here. So I reckon, kick back, take it easy, and forget about the treadmill for a while. Before writing turns into a real treadmill and not something that you love. Sending you big HUGS! XX

  7. I love our Monday updates, Vikki. For me, this is the week I do that last chapters of my WIP. I did do the ten chapters (edit and rewrite of course) and I will have the book finished by mid week. I can use the rest of the week to read and reread and tweek and then send to my two beta readers. My time frame was to send it to them by the first week in March … so I might give the work a week’s rest. But it will be done and over and I can then happily return to something else and give my mind a new set of characters to play with πŸ™‚

  8. You’re one of the most focused, productive writers I know, so give yourself a break!
I always look forward to your to-do posts! I had some major breakdowns and breakthroughs in my writing this past week. I’m excited to do a rewrite of parts, if not all, of my novel based on this breakthrough I had. I talked it over with one of my advisors and we’re all on the same page. I’m going to focus this week on 1)reading (again); and 2)rewrite of section 1 of my novel.
Big hugs from across the pond!

  9. Here’s to hoping you find your way out of the mood and into a much better one. Just take it day by day. My writing goal this week is just as low key as last week….keep writing. My circumstances are not going to change and really only have the potential to worsen, so somehow I’ve got to come to terms with it and just continue to write regardless. Really, I’d love to eat tons of chocolate and hide under the covers or take an exotic vacation leaving everyone else to take care of things. Seeing none of those chooses occur in the near future, I reckon I’ll just muddle on the best I can.
