Must Do’s 5th to 11th

Firstly, I’ve had about 10 comments that ended up in my Spam folder (that definitely shouldn’t have been there!) I’ve approved them, but now I’ve lost them! so if you’ve recently commented to one if my posts and I didn’t reply could you point me to which day? Thanks 🙂

Have you noticed my To Do Lists seem to be getting shorter and shorter? Lol

I’m still writing every day (morning pages – The Artists Way and using Natalie Goldberg’s Wild Mind) but I’m not feeling very focused. I’m ok with that though, I’ve got a lot on my mind at the moment (you’ll see what I mean when you read Wednesdays IWSG post) and I’ve also been planning (mentally) my Nano 13 novel, which I’m actually quite excited about!

So last weeks ridiculously simple list ended up like this:

1. Sort out rewards Blog Post Ummmm, nope, I looked at it a few times, but, it’s still sitting in my draft folder. If you nominated me for an award recently, I haven’t forgotten, it’s just that I’m not gunna be able to post it live this week or next anyway 😦
2. Do Artist Way stuff Done, although there was one task, “Visit a sacred place” that I didn’t do, and I know just the place I want to visit 🙂
3. Start indexing my notebooks Ahhhh, well I did up to number 3, which I was quite pleased about 🙂 It’s blooming hard work…but interesting.

On Saturday I’m off to Swanwick The Writers Summer School. My 3rd year and I’m really looking forward to it 🙂 More about that on Friday, and suffice to say, the To Do List this week reflects that 🙂

I’ve also got a book launch to attend and then of course, Friday I’ll be packing!

So have a good week guys….mine will be a little frantic, and now, I’m off to make packing lists lol

What are your plans for the week?

  1. I was considering whether to take up a Journalism course… then I got distracted with contemplating whether or not to start up a ‘to-do’ list to track my progress. Is it hard to work and write at the same time? I figured I’m so tired by the end of the day that I wouldn’t be inspired to write much! 😦

    • Oh honey (((((hugs))))) I hear that so often, writers being exhausted because of the day job so don’t feel like writing 😦

I find that creating even a small to do list really helps me focus.

  2. Here’s hoping everything goes to plan and you have an easy run up to Friday’s packing. Sandals and shorts or rain gear? In case I miss the departure, have a Fantastic time at Swanwick.

  3. I’m typing up my handwritten words for Project Apollo so that is my main focus at the moment and ever since I wrote on here that I probably won’t be attempting NaNo this year I want to give it a go. I’m just not sure if I can afford the time to do it yet :-/ good luck with you goals this week 🙂 x

    • Good luck honey!

Well, you know what I always say….so what if you don’t do 50,000 words….even if you only do a couple of hundred a day, if its more than you usually do, then, it’s helped 😉

  4. Indexing notebooks… will you come and do mine? Good luck this week! And also, that SPAM thing: ugh, is that still going on? I thought Akismet had fixed all that?? *sighs* When you’ve declared them ‘Not Spam’, they comments usually go in a Pending file, have you checked there? Otherwise check your Trash. You never no where these things go. 🙂

  5. Reading your plans always has a double effect on me – I get exhausted just thinking about what you’re doing, as well as being inspired to give it a go myself…tends to be a toss-up between wgich reaction gains the upper hand!! This week I’m focusing on some research, a little re-writing and keep plugging away at my short stories…… 🙂 Pretty much same as usual!

  6. Good plans so far, Vikki … as for me … I am extending the list from last week to this week. WIP and my on-line shop. Get them both in order, send out the first 3 chpts to my BETA reader. I wish us both a productive week 🙂

  7. Enjoy your writers summer school. Sounds exciting. One day, when I have a freer life, I’ll hope I get to go to a writing workshop or take a creative writing class. Still have low writing goals, but oh well, I’m in a contemplative time of life right now. I’m going to keep journaling, write fun stuff, and will try to do a couple of blog post if my unreliable internet service will work. 🙂

  8. My plans? I need to figure out how to keep up or sort out what I can’t keep up with anymore! Your lists are so … sane. I should make one–just one!
    Have fun at Swanwick!

  9. Enjoy Swanwick 🙂
My plans for the week, now it’s Wednesday, are to reach the end of the penultimate chapter of the first draft of my WIP. Am nervous and resisting the temptation to go back and fiddle with my first chapter as a way of avoiding typing those terrifying words “THE END”. Will have been very brave, though, and had the grammar checker switched off for the whole of the first draft.
