Todays letter in the A-Z Challenge is M and its also the halfway point 🙂
So far i think I’ve done ok. There were a few days that were a bit of a struggle (today especially…but more about that in a minute) but on the whole, the ideas have come thick and fast the moment I’ve sat down to write. Thats quite comforting lol. So i haven’t lost it after a 5 month break *breaths a sigh of releif*
Ive had some lovely comments, connected with some great new bloggers who I’ve only met through this challenge, and i hope i can stay in contact with them after the challenge.
My only regret is that i haven’t been able to keep up with Twitter. Ive neglected it for about 6 months now so can only apologise if I’ve not replied to one of your Tweets, and thank you for sharing my posts that get sent there automatically from my blog 🙂 I will catch up in May.
Right, on with todays word…the random word generator gave me the word Mother… Oh great!…this isn’t really a word i want to talk about and conjures up a myriad of thoughts and feelings, none of which grab me with enthusiasm. So I’ve been sitting here for the last half hour wondering if i can just skip M? No? Damn…ok, well in that case i’ll just do a Haiku, just get something down on the page and we can move on.

Thanks David, yeah, it is/was. I could of cheated and changed it, but at the end of the day, sometimes tou have to write about stuff that makes you uncomfortable dont you. I just didnt want to write a lot lol xx

Well that was a great haiku, and therefore a great post!! And I hadn’t realised it was half way through A to Z – YES!! I’m looking forward to getting my life back, haha – I’m doing that and Camp NaNo, oof! And shame about twitter, I’ve only recently discovered it, OMG it’s awesome fun. Maybe catch you in May when you’re back on 🙂

Btw, since you’re English you can help me out with two things. How would you describe Marmite to a newbie? And how would you describe the Mighty Boosh. I feel I’ve got Marmite more or less down, but the Mighty Boosh was a sticking point. For some unknown reason most people who read my blog are from the US – glad to have found someone from the UK!! 🙂

Marmite? Wow, that’s a hard one! I’ve always thought it tastes like a tangy Soy sauce. Like someone has added vinegar to it lol. Sorry that’s all I’ve got lol, don’t they have malt extract in the US then? As for Mighty Boosh I’m ashamed to say I’ve never watched it *blush* 🙂 Tell them to look it up on YouTube 😉
I have a lot of readers in the US and as I’m a “Sowf Eas Lundunna” I often get people asking what I’m on about lol, but then again, I’m sure a lot of UK people don’t understand me! Lol

I never get Haikus. I simply don’t understand how they’re written, and 99% of the time, I don’t get the sentiment or I’m not moved by them. Yours, however, I get. Sorry it was such a yucky word for ya. BTW, I LOVE your header. So pretty. 🙂

I don’t think this post is crap! I think that haiku captures something. It could be interpreted as compliment to someone who is nurturing -telling them they’d make a good mother – or it could be saying that these are the things the narrator’s mother should have done, and didn’t. I’m going with the second interpretation, personally, because let’s just say the word ‘mother’ is a raw one for me, too…
