Finally… The Solution To Procrastination?

Those of you who have been reading my blog for a while now will know that i often struggle with not writing. Its not writers block, its not got anything to do with being scared of the blank page. As I’m a huge fan of prompts, i can always find something to write about. No, i think my main problem is procrastination. I need someone to tell me “GO WRITE!” and stand over me with a large metal implement lol. But…just recently…things have improved…and heres why…

Ive discovered…The Neill Technique 🙂

So what is it?

Well, in basic terms, its like a cross between hypnotherapy, motivational coaching and someone wagging a friendly finger at you lol. You find somewhere comfy, relax and listen…simple.

Ok, i am, i was a bit of a sceptic (sorry Barbara!) but, actually, since listening to the audio file I’ve really wanted to write. That need to put pen to paper has returned and I’ve written nearly every day since (apart from weekends when i have The Hubster at home, but thats by the by lol).

So, please do check it out (link above) especially if you’re going through a dry patch or feel unfocused (as i seem to have been doing for the last year! lol). I can’t guarantee it will work for you, but blooming hell, it seems to have put some fire back in my belly 🙂

Thanks Barbara…acknowledgment in the best-seller coming right up 😉

Do you have any techniques for conquering procrastination?

  1. I’ll definitely have to check it out. I’ve been desperately wanting to write for months now but I just can’t seem to sit down and commit to starting a new novel. Having one day off a week from a very physically exhausting job means when I sit still for more than 10 minutes I just want to veg in front of the tv or computer and not have to expend any more energy than possible.

When I start having Saturdays off as well I’ll listen to this clip and I’m looking forward to finding some of that fire you have now for writing. Thank you, Vikki!
