S is for…..

Scarlet, who has been removed because I want to use her for my Nano 2012 novel.

Sorry you missed it 😦

A – Z Challenge

Awwwww, I like Scarlet πŸ™‚ I think she needs a bit of romance in her life, a man who is determined to prove to her that there is a happy ever after. Perhaps there’s another market trader who has been watching her for a while? Or, things start coming true in her horoscopes?

Yesterday’s prompt didn’t get done 😦 I’m not too sure what’s wrong with me to be honest. Apart from these characters, it’s like I’m avoiding all other writing tasks 😦 Today’s prompt is when stars align which is apt don’t you think? Perhaps Scarlets story will get written after all πŸ˜‰

  1. We all fall into writing slumps. Give it time. You’ll get back in your groove when the time is right.

I love all of your characterizations. Scarlet reminds me a lot of me in a lot of respects. I hope she finds her Prince Charming because it sounds like she could really enjoy being loved…if she could get past her feelings of being abandoned.

    Good job!

  2. I like Scarlet. She just seems insecure is all. πŸ™‚

I’ve been avoiding editing and can’t bring myself to tackle any long pieces.

  3. I think Scarlet has a lot of potential for a short story or even a novel. Don’t worry about not doing other writing until the A-Z is over. It’s your current mindset and everything is geared towards creating characters. It won’t be time wasted, as I could easily see you getting 20 or more shorts out of it. I know how you feel, though! I wrote nearly a hundred twitter-length stories after starting the Story-a-Day-in-May a couple of years ago and was unable to write anything longer for several months afterwards! That won’t happen to you – these sketches are different.

  4. I love your theme of different characters for the A to Z Challenge. I don’t for a moment think I could manage the ‘Prompt A Day’ challenge in parallel with ATOZ. I’m not surprised you’re worn out. I was exhausted by M! Great blog, I’m glad I looked in.

  5. I love that she has English rose coloring and works in a flower shop. That seems to go together nicely.
Doing these sketches every single day will certainly cut into your time. I think it is a worthwhile challenge though, and you doing great at it!
Even though I don’t comment every day, I look forward to opening each post and meeting another character, because I never know just who will be hiding behind that next letter in the alphabet. πŸ™‚

  6. I like scarlet, too. I feel like her plain-naturedness is appealing, and perhaps there is some lucky suitor out searching for her.
