Bookcrossing

No writing prompt pic this week folks, because, today, I will be attending the Bookcrossing Unconventional in Colchester. I haven’t been to one of these events for about, oooooo, 6 years! Lol….where does the time go eh?

I’ve been a member since 2004, but I’m not as active as I used to be. Here’s my “bookshelf” ๐Ÿ™‚

It’s something I feel passionate about, the idea of passing my books on, leaving them somewhere for someone to find. I’ve worked in charity shops, I know what happens to books that are donated, so I’d much rather dispose of my read books this way. Plus, it’s great fun, especially when you find out your book ended up on the other side of the world ๐Ÿ™‚

So here are a selection of pics from previous Unconventions….. The highlight of the event is the “book table” lol. The idea is to take books with you for the table, and come home with less books than you took….it rarely happens ๐Ÿ˜‰

I’ll let you know if I manage to come home with less books than I took with me ๐Ÿ˜‰

So what do you do with your books once you’ve read them?

The Town of Books

My regular readers will probably be aware by now that I have a book buying habit lol ๐Ÿ˜‰ I’m a bit of an addict *blush* So, recently, when hubby took some time off work, i managed to persuade him to take me to Hay On Wye, aka The Town of Books ๐Ÿ™‚

If you click the link above and scroll, you’ll see that there are quite a few book shops lol. During our day there we managed to visit 22 of them!

I had a lovely day, but only bought 5 books! Can you believe it? I must be ill ๐Ÿ˜‰ No, actually, hubby and I made a pact…. NO fiction! We both have huge TBR piles, so I was fine with that.

For your viewing pleasure, a snapshot of my day, including the books I bought ๐Ÿ™‚

So if you ever get chance, you must go! Just make sure you make a pact with someone on exactly how many books you’ll be buying ๐Ÿ˜‰

What are you addicted to buying?
